Proceedings of an international conference held in the Spring of 2005 in Alexandria, presenting a complex of auditoria (discovered by Polish archaeologists at Kom el-Dikka in the very centre of late antique Alexandria) in its cultural and historical context. Seven contributors devoted their studies to the archaeology of this important complex but also to broader problems of late antique education. The volume includes plates, photographs and maps of the site.
