Résumé:
Even though water is the most important substance for human and other life, Aegean scholars appeared to have had relatively little attention for it in comparison to other liquids such as wine and oil. We need not have worried. Considering the great number of participants, the quality of the papers and the enthusiastic discussions during the conference, it is clear that the importance of water in the Aegean Bronze age is increasingly acknowledged, as it is in our modern world.
The conference took place in the city of Amsterdam, which itself is located below sea levels in a river delta. In this watery environment, the weather definitely contributed to the success of the conference with heavy rains and numerous showers.
